Water Quenching Copper Slag

 

Pyrogenic process copper smelting will generate numerous slag with high content of iron, commonly copper slag is also with valuable metal of Pb，Zn，Au，Ag，Ni and Co. To stockpile these copper slag, it needs large land, at the same time, it will pollute surrounding environment. Therefore, to develop and utilize copper slag, to extract valuable metal of iron, copper, etc, and to reduce environmental load of copper smeltingenterprise, those have significant for copper smelting enterprise to comprehensively utilize copper slag, broaden resource of iron ore and healthy & sustainably develop.
Copper slag appears black or brown, its surface has metallic luster, its internal structure is vitreum matter basically, it is dense, crisp and hard. In mineral composition, most is fayalite, secondary is magnetite and vitreum matter made of a small amount of gangue.

1. Appilcative Technology: Rotary Kiln Technology

Uses the rotary kiln technology to process copper slag, the iron oxide in pellet is reduced and metal iron crystal grain grows in condition of high temperature, via grinding and magnetic separation, to realize the separation of iron and slag, final product is CBI (cold briquetted iron). Zinc and Lead in the form of metal go into exhaust smoke and is recycled by bag collector. Most of other valuable metal enters into slag and is recycled by floatation, leaching-extracting or other method.

Tailings may be made into cast stone or be cement admixture as building materials.
